The holidays are just around the corner and I need to come clean about something, so I’m going to start this post off with a confession: I’m addicted to Pinterest. Now that I got that off my chest: it’s out in the open and we can talk about why I think it’s so great.
Pinterest is the most visual of all social platforms and it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out that images are the driving force behind most social sites – even Twitter. Why? Because images evoke positive emotions (read: people like purty pictures). According to Trend Reports, most people – 65 to 85 percent – describe themselves as visual learners. I would include myself as part of that stat. I once was given the nickname Pigeon by a friend who was impressed by my ability to recall how to get somewhere based on visual cues alone.
Pinterest does have a lot of aesthetic appeal for those who love visuals. For example, I love black and white photography (see, visual!), so I am constantly hunting for inspiring images or great ideas for my own photos. Another great thing about Pinterest: it’s loaded with information. It’s the equivalent of the Library of Congress in its girth of information, but for DIY ideas and crockpot recipes. In addition to Cheesy Garlic Bread recipes (the number one recipe pin, BTW), you can also find a plethora of marketing tips from tons of credible sources.
With the holidays drawing nearer, it’s never too late to interlace some of your inbound marketing with some of that holiday cheer. Here are 12 of my favorite holiday marketing pins from Pinterest.
The eBooks
Don’t you think that eBooks are just a tremendous resource? I know I do and I have read all of these! They are loaded with information you need to get any type of holiday marketing campaign into gear. I especially love the eBook from Socially Stacked, but I have a professional crush on them anyway.
