3 Reasons you Need to Get your Inbound Marketing Certification

iStock_000016997869_SmallWhen I started my inbound marketing certification I was excited to learn more about the field. I had never been “certified” in anything before and I didn’t know a lot about inbound marketing.

After learning more about the certification through HubSpot, I quickly realized the certification process was more than just a learning opportunity. Being inbound certified was going to play a huge role in my success. If you are considering becoming certified, here are 3 reasons why you should start your online sessions now.

1) Learning from the best
Being HubSpot certified means you received your education from professionals who are in the inbound marketing world. There’s no one better to certify you in inbound marketing best practices than the people that wrote the book on inbound. Your teachers are experts and specialize in different aspects of inbound marketing, from content creation to calls to action (CTAs). The HubSpot team is making inbound marketing the preferred method compared to traditional outbound marketing, which is quickly becoming a thing of the past.

2) Certifications are always a plus in your career
It’s always good to be certified in any profession. Being certified shows you have taken extra steps to gain knowledge in your field. It’s proof of your commitment to the industry and shows that you have the motivation to complete a formal educational process outside of what you learned in college or pick up in your day-to-day practice.

3) Being certified could give you a leg up on your competition
WinningClients are more likely to hire an inbound marketing team that’s certified versus a team that isn’t. Your certification could help you gain new clients and attract the right employees to your team. Even if you are new to inbound marketing, becoming certified can make you more desirable to prospective employers. People want to see that you have taken the initiative to become an industry expert.

No need to feel overwhelmed about the process. Classes are broken down into different subjects and each class is about 30 to 45 minutes. You can watch the videos as many times as you need to and HubSpot offers a study guide in order to prepare for the test. Oh yeah, and the HubSpot Inbound Certification is free and open to the public!

Certifications are proof you know what you’re talking about. Clients and employers will have more confidence in someone who has gone beyond their regular duties and given their timde and energy to expand their knowledge. Once you’ve completed your certification you’ll have the tools you need to become a successful inbound marketer.
